We don’t know what Jeremy Allen White’s Google Calendar looks like. But you can assume it’s full of lines and lines of blue.
After wrapping up his last bit of press for The Bear a few weeks ago, he jetted straight off to Paris for Louis Vuitton’s Olympics kickoff party. Most people would stay for a few days to chill a bit and snack on some croissants, but JAW headed straight back to Los Angeles for a bunch of events. Committed!
But even when you’re one of the biggest actors on the planet, you need to know your limits. So following last night’s premiere for Blink Twice (Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut that also stars Channing Tatum), the Emmy winner exited a little earlier than expected. And his fit was impeccably rumpled and impossibly cool.
Up top, White wore a messy gray tee layered under a clean white shirt. He finished things off with some neatly-creased black trousers and some perfectly-polished Oxfords. It was a little casual, it was a little formal, and it was an aesthetic that British GQ‘s Murray Clark coined “slacker hot.”
“Think of slacker hot as like the pre-amble texts to a Hinge date,” says Clark. “The more communication, the more curation, the more effort, the quicker your mysterious enigma dries up. So you keep elements simple. After all, there’s an innate confidence to committing solely to roughed-up staples.”
Sure, not every guy can get away with the chill vibe. But if you wanna give it a go, the first thing you need do is get Jeremy Allen White’s fave sunglasses. They’re handmade in Italy from nice, glossy acetate, but they’re also decorated with barbed wire details across the sides. If that’s not the epitome of slacker hot, we don’t know what is.
