Another Isle of Man car dealership has announced it is to shut at the end of the month, days after family-owned Mylchreests said it was closing its multi-franchise business after six decades.
Signature Car Sales, based on Kingswood Grove in Douglas, which has served the island for six years, has announced it too will close with owner Austen Messenger confirming its final day of operation will be March 31.
His Facebook post read: “After six incredible years of serving our community and providing top-quality cars, Signature Car Sales will be closing its doors. We want to sincerely thank all of our customers for their support, trust, and loyalty over the years.

Difficult trading conditions in the automotive industry and a significant increase in running costs, has forced several dealerships to shutter island locations.
Family-run Mylchreest’s managing director James Mylchreest said the business had taken the difficult decision to close due to the “increasing challenges of running a small franchised operation”.
Hampshire-based family-owned firm Snows Motor in January wrote to customers announcing its Isle of Wight dealership was closing due to difficult trading conditions in the automotive industry and a significant increase in running costs.
To ensure its customers use its Portsmouth branch, the dealership group said it would cover the cost of transport as well as a 20 per cent discount on labour for future service or repair jobs.
